The Yakima Valley really comes to life in the summer. The long days in the sun invite lively events. There’s something for everyone, from wine country tours and outdoor concerts to an evening cheering on the Pippins. 

Take a look at 10 entertaining events you won’t want to miss in Yakima this summer …

1. Music in the Vines 

June 10th – July 29th

Music in the Vines is a concert series hosted by Gilbert Cellars. Lounge in the amphitheater and sip their bright rosé or swirl a glass of Malbec while you listen to the music fill the air. You can pack a picnic or purchase food to enjoy from local vendors, including Abundant Tables, Crafted Yakima, and Hoptown Pizza. This is a 21+ event.

Purchase your tickets ahead of time. They sell out quickly!

2. Bottles Brews Barbecues 

June 10th & 11th

Bottles Brews Barbecues showcase in Prosser, Washington, features a barbeque competition, a cornhole competition, and live music while you savor local wines and craft beer. This is a 21+ event. 

Purchase your tickets online. All proceeds from this event benefit the Posser Memorial Health Foundation.

3. First Fridays

Most Yakima wineries host special events throughout the summer on the first Friday of the month. In addition, you can check out the individual wineries for their events. Some of our favorites are Treveri Cellars, Fortuity Cellars, Owen Roe, Dineen Vineyards, and Freehand Cellars.

4. Downtown Summer Nights

Downtown Summer Nights is a weekly block party on Historic North Front Street in Yakima. Every Thursday night features two live bands for free. Yup, take the family downtown and enjoy local food vendors and wine and brews in the beer garden. It’s an event the whole family can enjoy. 

5. Bingo Nights

Take the family down to Single Hill Brewing Company for Wednesday night Bingo. The game starts at 6:30 and fills up fast! This is a family-friendly event that is free to play–and there are prizes for the lucky winners. Check out the Facebook event page for more information.

6. Cherry and Berry Days at Bill’s Berry Farm 

June 18, 25, July 2, 9 & 16th

Bills Berry Farm is hosting Cherry and Berry Days on Saturdays through July. Check out this free event with pay-as-you-go activities. This is a family-friendly event featuring u–pick fruit, a barnyard train ($3), an animal farm, lawn games, and their famous doughnuts. 

7. Yakima Farmers Market

Sundays from May 8th – Oct 9th

Spend your Sunday mornings at the Yakima Farmers Market exploring local produce, artisan products, and delicious food.

8. Red’s Fly Shop Guided River Tours

Explore the Yakima River on a Red’s Fly Shop Guided River Tours. Choose from a half or full-day adventure floating the river while fly fishing with an expert. Check out their website to see everything that’s included in the experience. 

9. Dye Hard 5K Color Run

July 9th

The valley’s favorite nighttime fun run is back! At the Dye Hard 5K Color Run, you’ll get covered in brightly colored powder as you run under the glow of black lights. After the run, enjoy time with friends and family with music and dancing (food and beer available to purchase). Register here. 

10. Yakima Pippins

Savor summer evenings at a Yakima Pippins baseball game. Check out all their ticket options and keep an eye out for special nights like firework nights, giveaways, and special guests.
