2022 was a year of perseverance for Mal & Joel Real Estate. With the changing market, we pushed through for some fantastic results. But it wasn’t easy. It took hard work, struggle, and lots of research to understand our market as it changed. We’re proud of the results we achieved with our team — and we have no plans to slow down in 2023!
Our biggest wins were in the relationships with our clients and Yakima Real Estate agents. Our client appreciation event was a fantastic success! We took over E.Z. Tiger for an evening filled with delicious food, drinks, prizes, and live music. We had a great time saying “Thank You!” to the people who have trusted us with their homes.
We also received more business from agent referrals which is always an honor that other Yakima real estate agents trust us to get the job done.
The average sales price on homes we helped people buy or sell was $386,000, while the MLS average sales were $369,000. We feel really good about this!
Although it was challenging to see the market slowing down and interest rates rising, we continued with the mindset that people still need to buy or sell due to life circumstances. So we persevered and continued to serve and support our clients the way we always have — with excellence.
In a buyer’s market, it’s important for us to work harder and smarter while still providing great customer service. We’re doubling down on our goals and pushing ourselves to achieve them despite the market conditions.
In years like these, only about 10% of the agents will do 90% of the work, and we plan to stay within the 10% of agents as we have been in the past few years.

2. Give remodeling advice: The benefit of renovations before selling your home can vary. We can help you determine the projects that will bring the biggest return on investment without wasting your time and money.
3. Provide a comparable market analysis: if you want to know what the value of your home is, we would love to do a comparable market analysis. Or, if you want to know what’s happening in the market, we are here and would love to help and serve you!
What can we say about 2023? It’s a year of change and opportunity, but we are always ready to take it on. Based on our success from 2022, we can only see great things in the year to come.
